Samsung launched the Galaxy Ring in 2024, which is a wearable device made of titanium that tracks health around the clock. Since then, there have been occasional discussions online about the Galaxy Ring 2. Many people thought that the Galaxy Ring 2 would be revealed together with Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones at a Galaxy Unpacked event later this year, but a new report indicates there might be a delay. As per Korean ET News, Samsung Electronics is planning to move the release of the Galaxy Ring 2 to early next year. Reports say that the launch has been postponed due to reasons like the pace of growth in the smart ring market and the effectiveness of marketing, among other things. An anonymous source shared details that portray a hopeful outlook for the Galaxy Ring 2. The new version is anticipated to make improvements in several important areas, such as better sensor precision, increased comfort while wearing it, and a slimmer, lighter design. Most importantly, the battery life is said to extend up to 10 days on a single charge, significantly more than the seven days that the current Galaxy Ring reportedly provides.
On another note, the Galaxy Ring was priced at Rs 38,999 when it came out in 2024. Currently, it can be found on Amazon for Rs 18,999. It comes in nine different sizes, from Size 5 to Size 13, with the weight of the ring falling between 2.3g and 3.0g based on the selected size. Made from Titanium Grade 5, it also has a 10ATM and IP68 rating. Regarding its sensors, the Galaxy Ring has three: an accelerometer, a PPG sensor for monitoring heart rates, and a skin temperature sensor. It connects to a paired device through BLE 5.4 and works with Android 11 or newer, needing at least 1.5GB of memory. The battery size changes with the ring size, ranging from 18mAh for Size 5 to 23.5mAh for Size 13, claiming to provide up to seven days of battery life. A 30-minute charge can boost it to 40 percent. The included charging case has a 361mAh battery for easy charging while on the move.
