
The Delaware River bridge which connects the New Jersey and Pennsylvania turnpikes has been closed until a further notice for an emergency repairs to correct a structural problem on the bridge.
According to a New Jersey transportation spokesperson, the Delaware bridge was closed for the traffic in both the directions on 20th January (Friday) afternoon after a crack was found in a critical steel component on the side of New Jersey during a biennial bridge inspection.
New Jersey transportation officials had advised the motorists to use the Burlington-Bristol Bridge, Interstate 78 or the bridges in Trenton.
Interstate 295 in New Jersey can be used to get to, or close to, those bridges and Route 13 in Pennsylvania, said Stephen Shapiro the spokesperson of State Department of Transportation

Pearl Harbor Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike is 5.7 miles, which connects the main turnpike stem to the Delaware River Turnpike Bridge in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The bridge is co-owned by both of the states.
