A robbery attemp in Rankin led to a fatal shooting on Thursday night. A man was shot to death during the incident.

The man has been identified as Lee Williams, of Braddock, according to the medical examiner's office. The 46-year-old victim was shot on his chest leading to his death in Hawkins Village.

According to the police, the man was trying to flee when he was shot and died. He was a victim of the robbery attempt at the housing complex, inside a building.

Police are investigating into the incident and looking for suspects.
