On Tuesday, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and the standard Xiaomi 15 smartphones were unveiled in India. Both models utilize Snapdragon 8 Elite processors and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM. Featuring rear camera systems developed in collaboration with Leica, these devices also include 32-megapixel front-facing cameras. They operate on Android 15, layered with HyperOS 2.0 from the outset, and boast IP68-rated constructions. The Ultra model was first released in China in February, whereas the standard model, along with a Pro variant, made its debut in October 2024. In India, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a price tag of Rs. 1,09,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. Customers who pre-order will receive a complimentary Photography Kit Legend Edition, along with a Rs. 10,000 instant discount offer from ICICI Bank. The Photography Kit, which includes a USB Type-C camera grip, a 2,000mAh battery, and a detachable shutter button, is priced at Rs. 11,999.
Conversely, the standard Xiaomi 15 is available for Rs. 64,999 in the 12GB + 512GB variant. Customers who pre-order this model can avail themselves of a Rs. 5,000 instant discount via ICICI Bank cards and receive Xiaomi Care Plan benefits valued at Rs. 5,999. The pre-booking period for both models runs from March 19 to April 2, with a limited early access sale starting in India on March 11. These devices can be purchased through Amazon, the Xiaomi India e-store, and select offline stores. The standard Xiaomi 15 comes in Black, Green, and White colors, while the Ultra model is offered in Silver Chrome.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch WQHD+ (1440x3200 pixels) quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display, which supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, and a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz, all protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0. The display has received three TÜV Rheinland certifications for minimal blue light, being circadian-friendly, and flicker-free performance, along with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. In comparison, the Xiaomi 15 showcases a 6.36-inch full-HD+ (1200 x 2670 pixels) LTPO AMOLED screen.
Both the standard and Ultra versions of the Xiaomi 15 are equipped with Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoCs. The standard variant accommodates up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, whereas the Ultra variant can be outfitted with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Both versions come pre-installed with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. In terms of photography, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a Leica-branded quad rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary LYT-900 sensor equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Additionally, there is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with OIS and up to 3x optical zoom, alongside a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP9 periscope telephoto lens also featuring OIS and capable of up to 4.3x optical zoom. The standard Xiaomi 15, on the other hand, includes a Leica-tuned triple rear camera array composed of a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS and up to 3x optical zoom. Both models are equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with a robust 5,410mAh battery, supporting charging speeds of 90W via wired connection and 80W wirelessly. In contrast, the standard model is fitted with a slightly smaller 5,240mAh battery, which also enables 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging capabilities. For user security, both smartphones include ultrasonic fingerprint sensors integrated into the display. In terms of connectivity, they offer a range of features, including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. Additionally, both devices have received an IP68 rating, indicating their resistance to dust and water.
